lost my best friend :(

i had to put my dog "Gunther" to sleep yesterday. he was a beautiful 145 lb great dane and the best dog in the world. he had "wobblers" disease which is common in the big breeds. he just got to where he couldn't get up to eat or go to the bathroom so that's when we knew it was time. the hard part was that he was perfectly fine except for the fact that he couldn't walk. when he was laying down, he looked perfectly healthy. it's been a rough couple of days. if i find a picture i'll post it up.

Sorry, My cat lived to be 21 before we had to put her down. She got in a fight with 2 dogs at the age 0f 20 & kicked some ass.

Aw  We had to put our dog down too this past weekend.. was really sad.. I didn't want to post anything, but he was an Australian Shephard, he was 15, and yeah same concept. His hind legs were going out, but everything else about him was fine. We have hard wood floor so he couldn't get up at all, and when he did he would drag himself on the ground. Here's a pic of him before his legs started to give Name's Spike. I named him back when I was 7, after the dinosaur from The Land Before Time.

(on the upside though, awesome dog name, i loved "dinosaurs" when i was little too)

im sorry to hear that its really sad when u lose a pet for a family member (i consider them one in the same) u lost my cat when i was 8 and just this year my Grandfather died in October.

Well, it's better your dog died that way than mine did...
I came home after school in like 7th grade and my dog, which was a 19 yr old poodle, walked off the edge of our deck. We were building a new railing and werent all the way done so there was like a 3 foot space where it was a 20 foot drop to concrete. He was pretty blind and I guess just didnt see where the edge was, he fell off and was still alive when I found him and 2 hours later when he finally got put to sleep.
It does suck man I know how you feel, but I would just take some time, get over it and get a puppy. Golden retrievers are crazy dogs to have, that's what I want. Get the runt from a litter that was just born and he'll be your best friend.

i had to put my labrador to sleep last year. he was 14 and it seemed as if he was blind because he could not navigate he just walked crashing into things. he didnt even eat, he got real skinny because of this. |

I just got a jack russel terrier...see my sig lol. She the best dog I've ever owned. House trained her in 3 days...she was only 6 weeks old.
