well i never street race but i did kinda of today like 5 mins ago on my way home. i was coming home on this pretty windy and narrow street, and there was a guy tailgateing me which, when ever, some one does that it pisses me off, now im doing 45 in a 35 so im not going slow. and hes all over me, now when ever i have this happen i just slow down. i got do to 30, 5 under, and remember this is a one lane road. and hes all over me and tries to pass when he does (no ones is any where near in the other lane) i gunned it and he floored it and i didnt blow his doors off but i got up to about 60 and he just as a ways off my rear bumper. i pulled like 8 or 9 feet on him. he was in, i cant remember the name its a acura umm like 2 years old. its a sporty one. i think its a CL if thats a type. so any way the stang did me good today. and if any of you ppl tailgate please stop.

lmao. tailgaters are the worst. I got tailgated by a cop in a truck once, unmarked, and i sped up to like 5 over, and then he pulled me over.
I was like, wtf, if you weren't 6 inches from my bumper, I wouldn't have sped up!
He just gave me a warning though.

When ever someone tailgate me I just go slower and slower and slower until he gets the idea.
Brake check is also nice though with the ebrake since no light will come on (only does that witth the car at work)

Haha..I'll run 6 inches off the car in front of me at 75 when ppl won't move. They hit brakes, I hit brakes, and I drive by looking through their windshield...

Hahahahaha, I've done the ebrake before, man it's so great. And yeh, it's fun to slow down to about 20 mph...and then swerve so they can't pass.

Not really, I've done it lots of times and the car just go straight forward, well as long as you make it go forward and now spin

i usually just pretend to be drunk and cross lanes and stuff, and they usually back off.
good thing I didn't do that the one time it was a cop, lol.

you don't pull it up THAT hard...
manual trans works just as well too.. though I tend to tailgate.. (as in only 1 car length away) its when people are going the speedlimit EXACTLY, maybe 1 over or 1 under
pisses me off
and when people going JUST the speedlimit and try to pull the slow down thing.. I find a way to pass them... (its possible in many many places here in south jersey..) then, depending on my mood let it drop..
HA I had an altima in front of me the other day (someone I know... but I found out afterwards) I turned onto a road and sped up to the speedlimit.. someone on the road was going 40 and still accelerating, I got a little too close.. they slowed up.. and kept slowing up (I was in the '89) we round the next curve, and it opens up to a passing zone.. I hit second, car kicks out a bit then grabs and I launch past the guy.. as I'm halfway past I hear their engine revving wayyyy up but its not going anywhere's.. (like they were trying to block my pass like oaktonarcher.. but THEY were the assholes in this case =p I was actually backing off as soon as I realized they weren't going fast yet..) anyhoo.. hit third, and was past him.. and kept going
it was fun that count as a race?
as for when I let tailgaters know to back off? its when I'm already going 8-9 over..

Nah...it not that hard to control if you know what you're doing. I used to drive my gf's old escort just by the parking brake. She hated riding with me in that car. Every single turn I made involved shifting into second and pulling e-brake to execute. It is fun to jump down from 5th to 3rd when you're being tailgated..god you slow down so fast.

Me2...Me2, I take every chance I get to drive em though. Like this past weekend when I drove a Bullit with 4.10's.. gah such a nice launch. I need a 5 speed Nissan piece of junk truck to keep some miles off the stang.

my 88 I wont have a problem with tailgaters. My reverse lights are rigged to a toggle switch (previous owner never bought part to turn them on in reverse, so i put in the toggle switch so atleast they are there) So now if someone tailgates me I can just turn on the reverse lights and watch the fun begin.
