ok...so here's the deal. took the car to the track today, using the old pony 15's and slicks. i was advised against slicks w/ my 7.5 but didn't listen.
i was up against an f-body z28 and i thought i could take him. he looked like rice w/ his clear tails. but it turns out he was pretty quick, so against my smart judgement i pushed my car too hard and heard a popping sound and saw smoke coming out before i could finish my run. needless to say the engine is toast, as well as the underside of my hood. the axle oddly enough remained intact but now i need to decide...try to fix the engine or sell it and get a new one.
if i were to get a new motor...what should i drop in, where should i get it done, and where can i find the engine, complete w/ a transmission?

if your going for a 5.0 u might as well go for a 331. and if you get that u might as well get the version in a lightening. so you will be pumping out really nice hp.

you can build something better for less, and you could get a donor car for the motor and wiring and all the little stuff, then part the donor car out and it will cost even less
