Tires for a 17x8

I plan on gettin some new wheels in the near future, they are 17x8. Any ideas on what tire size i should run. I've heard 245 but i was wonderin if it would be better to go wider. Either that or is it a better idea to run 245 in the front and something bigger in the back. Plus I was lookin at either BFGoodrich KDW's or AVS es 100's, any other ideas?

I would not suggest different tire sizes, unless you just need them for the traction. I don't know what mods you have, but a stock stang shouldn't need to worry about it. If you stagger tire sizes, you will be unable to rotate the tires to increase the life of your tires.

8 wide rims dont look great with a 275 tire out back, looks ok but not great... i would keep the tires the same size you get great benifits such as rotation... which you should do EVERY 3k and keep an eye on em for alignment needs ( at least twice a year... and heck if they are still aligned good then you can go longer )

i would highly recommend yokahoma avs es100 tires they are GREAT looking ride great are very nicely priced and kick kumos butt.... and they also shine up really nice... i had kumo trust me... dont go there.

I have been using Michelin Pilot AS Z rated tires for a while and while they are a great tire they are close to $250 a tire on sale. I switch to Dunlop 901's Z rated tires and find better corner traction with these and on sale I got them for $101 a tire. These are extreme cornering tires with twice the sidewall thickness than any other tire I have seen

you could either run a 245/45/17 or 255/45/17 and still have it look right

when going to a 255 the side wall jumps up.. and looks odd... i would leave it be or postulate running nitto 275/40/17s since they run more narrow and will have the correct sidewall height.

i ran 255/45/17s on my 17s when i had my bridgestone potenzas. They looked fine. the difference in sidewall height is like less than 2 mm...
dont put 275s on a 8" rim.. your sidewall will bubble out and look stupid.
