Underdrive pulley causing steering probs?

Has anyone had a problem with putting UD pulley (crank) on then having a stiff, jumpy steering? Noticed someone put an UD crank pully on and my steering is stiff and jumpy. Just wondering if this could cause it? Putting a new rack in this weekend with tie rods and flushing the P/S system. Wondering if i'll still have the problem.

had my UD for 5 years No problem at all .What mods have been done to the suspension ?? Too stiff can give you what you decribe or possibley the suspension bushings,universal joints in the steering column

no problems here on my 01 I used to have either, check the fluid level and then all the other components to find the issue

Suspension is stock. I've had this happen before on a different car and it was the rack with its gray, mud colored fluid I just wanted to make sure the UD pulleys weren't causing anything. Ive never used them before. ty.
