I have a 5.0 with true dual............will cutting the cats off
hurt the engine at all..........i have been told you need the cats on
this engine for BACKPRESSURE..........
i want to cut them off to get a a better sound out of my flowmasters
that are on the car now.............and will cutting the CATS off
make it a little bit louder or do cats reduce NOISE at all?
i just got this car about 2 weeks ago and I LOVE IT
i just want it to rumble a little bit louder is all.

it wont hurt but you will need to turn off the oxygen sensors as you will get a check engine light if you remove them. It will make the car louder. I recommend buying a off road H pipe and just bolt it on, you can then go back to your stock catted pipe if you ever need to.

What Brandon said you really don't want to run a V8 without a X or H pipe

Isnt there an issue with equalizing cylinder pressure if you cut the X or H out of it.

You don't need the cats. Losing them will also make the car louder. These guys are right about the balance pipe though. If you are running straight pipes, I'd really recommend buying either an H or X-pipe (or a Mac ProChamber, the best of both worlds).
The balance pipe actually increases exhaust flow by improving scavenging.
