Hiya guys, I'm new around here I have a 95 5.0, I want a better sound from the exsaust, and would like some more power as well. Should I og with an Offroad x-pipe as well as so0me nice pipes? Seems like there is a lot of unnessecary choking on the underside of that car.

Also I am looking to buy some rimes, was thinking About Black Deep Dish Billits, 18x9 and 18x10
1) will they rub?
2) I know they will look hot with the top down, but will they look funny with the top up (camel hair top)

well most 5.0 guys go no cats, sounds good, a little loud but its not that bad, just check your emmision laws to see if you can go with no cats, else you may have to get a high flow H or what not.

the best I have heard is a mac prochamber H pipe with no cats and a old school flowmaster cat back ( the origional mufflers not the delta flow ) but any cat back will sound good.

which ever you get make SURE you go with stainless steel pipe with polished tips, do NOT get chrome anything.

for your rim question, if you are not lowered the front wheels will not rub much at all if at all, you may get a little bit of a rub on your front sway bar at a full turn, which you barly EVER or should barly ever do, I have 17 by 9s up front with a 6.11 back spacing and I rub at full lock a little but its not bad, nore is it a horrible driving experience.

for the 18 by 10s out back they will look GREAT if you get the right size tire, a 10 wide demands at least a 305, probably a 315 or more ( if i remember correct ) and the front 9 wide require at least a 275 wide tire, for an 18 a 265 works better but NO more narrow than that, check out the rim/tire thread suspension/wheel/tire forum its a sticky.

If you like tire life... then go 18 by 9s all around due to tire wear and not being able to rotate, especially if you are going to lower the car. Lowered stangs almost ALWAYS wear on the inside of the tire, you can get maximum motorsports 4 point cc plates to help, they are the best out.

with a 1.3+ drop expect to need shocks/struts (which you may already depending on miles) tokico blue's work for a lower drop, mach 1 tokico struts/shocks work great for a 1.3 or less drop.

catted H w/ open H pipe.. some dynamat on the floor = minimal interior drone, and great sound..

in my opinion anyway..

and judging by the shift points and shift point MPHs.. (and comparing it to many many many many runs at the track) that vid woulda been a low 14/high 13 second 1/4 mile run, with just bolt ons.. that says something for performance?

old flowmasters sound AWESOME! I have a set, the 64 will be the 7th car they've been on I think and are probably 10-15 years old. But as far as horsepower goes, I've heard flowmasters arent the best....

I don't think they're is as much performance in exhaust as people like to think, unless your talking about what montiecitan said.. thats the only time i've noticed a big difference is when the h-pipe was left open

the reason I say this is because the factory provides us with fairly decent flowing systems to begin with
