Might be getting a 01-02 GT soon, and im in Wisconsin, so the only thing holding me back is its performance in the winter. I know it will drive like hell, but is it possible to drive in snow if your careful? I hope some ppl know cuz i wanna get it. If they do drive crappy, what can i do to help the situation

it's possible..
don't goose the throttle and the car will go straight
it doesn't like hills
and if at all possible, avoid coming to a complete stop at stop signs.. if you're rolling at 5 MPH you're good.. otherwise you're gonna have trouble getting going again..
best advice.. buy a beater subaru to go with your mustang GT...
btw 02 GTs kick ass

if you can drive a car worth a crap you can survive... but its not gonna be easy i would buy a beater to drive when its bad out.

Is there some reason why a good set of tire chains wouldn't help?
Just curious...

tire chains or studded snow tires would help.. as would weight in the trunk
but its still not a vehicle meant to handle snow..

I have driven rear wheel drives cars since 1968. Anything from big heavy cars to cars like my current stang. The best advice is to go easy on unplowed roads, get a good set of snow tires, and add about 100 lbs of sand bags in the back over the wheels. If you are driving a manual start off nice and easy and dont goose the throttle too hard. Give yourself plenty of stopping distance between cars and go get the 01,02 GT and enjoy.

lets just say goosing the throttle at all in FOURTH at 26 MPH will bring the car in a full 180 before you can say 'whoops'

eh in wisconsin it might be different. in PA winters.. the mountain areas.. it can handle light flurries and a few inches. if it is a bad storm.. its not going anywhere.
