Squeaky belt? bearing? dont know?

Hey I just noticed this today, umm, I dont think its the belt I think its the alternator and the screw and bearing the belt is on, if I spray the screw/bearing with WD-40 itll go away for a minute but then it comes back, its that big screw in the little peice that is attached to the alternator that the belt is on, im guessing the bearing or something in it is worn out, can anyone help? thanks!

Deciphering what you wrote .. it sounds like you're looking at the tensioner pulley. The easiest way to find the squeak is to remove the belt and spin each pulley by hand .. if anything spins rough or squeaks, it's a sure bet you've found the problem.

Well if you say you can spray the alternator with some WD-40, then it sounds like you have a bearing going bad. No biggie, it's a common thing considering the fact you have a 94-98, that would suggest you have over 100K, or close to it. Most alternantor last about that long before the bearings go bad.

hmm, alright thankyou very much ill take the belt off and check each one individually and I dont know because my car only has 67,000 miles
