I'm not really into to doing subs anymore. I'm really done with the sound system. So what should I do in the trunk since I plan on showing the car alot at car shows. I already have a matching neon tube and strobe in the trunk.
I want to do something on the trunk lid. Like a piece trimmed in carpet and something done in plexiglass in the center. Like a pony or something.
But what else to do in there?

Well, I still want room in the trunk. If I even did subs, it would be like one eight inch sub. I wouldn't even use it then.

or how about a reflective pony emblem (large) in the carpet? like made of glass or something shiny.

If you show your car off alot then a custom sub box would be the way to go. A buddy of mine around here did the running pony with neons shining through. it was real dope.
But if your broke. Dont bother showing off your trunk if you got nothing.

keep it simple, try to clean up the underside of the trunk lid for starters, make a panel or something for it. I think a trunk that is just clean... tidy.... looks better than putting a bunch of neons and lights and crap in it.

do a nitrous bottle with subs, and amp rack. You could get that all underneath the covered area of the trunk and have a decent amount of space left to put some stuff. Thatd look nice.

I have a link for a carpeted truck lid...it has the mustang runny horse in it...I am going to find the link...
EDIT: The contact info for those interested is on page 1 of that thread. Here is the runny pony anyhow. I think they go for like $75 or something like that.

Heres an idea I always wanted to do but never did because I wanted to keep my spare.
Take out your carpet and the board that sits on top of spare tire. Make a fiberglass mold that basicall fits over the space your tire sits in and more if you'd like. Do about 3-5 layers(your choice) of fiberglass and let it cure. Cut out some kind of emblem or something(running pony, ford, 232, 3.8, "Mustang") I dunno. After it's been cut out wrap the fiberglass in leather or vinyl or primer and paint it. Kinda chamfer the edges of the cutout to give it a rounded look. Take a piece of 1/8"-1/4" plexiglass and attach it to the bottom of fiberglass mold somehow. I'd use some sort of aluminum or metal cut to a design and drill screws through everything. Wire a whole shitload of neons or strobes underneath the whole thing where your tire used to be.
Next, fix up the edges of the mold to look nice and clean, then modify your carpet to go underneath the mold into the tire cavity. Mold sits on top of carpet over the cavity with neons or something inside it.
I'm not good with fiberglass though so I've never had a chance to try and do it. Plus I do have subs so I don't have much room.
