If i was forced to buy a "family" car. That would be the one. I've never liked the taurus, but this one i like.

It'll be interesting to see how it does with a $40,000 price tag. To me most people looking for a luxury sedan around 40k will buy lincoln, cadillac, bmw or benz, or a pricey import since they tend to be older...but who knows
ecoboost looks sweet though

If I could I would trade my 2006 Mustang V6 for this in a heart beat. It is a very sleak and aggressive looking car.

yeah, exactly. while it would be one hell of a 20-30k car, the price is putting it in competition with cars like the g37. which in my opinion is not only so much sexier, but cheaper as well.

40k though... you are not far off a GT500 honestly once its all said and done~ so I would be hard pressed to actually buy an SHO vs what else you can get but... if you have to have a four door... what else is out there in the price range.

Yah that's what I kind of thought as well...GT500's for 45K or less are out there.
But if someone is looking for a high performance sedan, after doing some research the SHO really is the best priced car.
A 335i starts at 40k and only has 300hp, and the lexus IS with the 3.5 has 304hp and starts at 36k. The CTS is the same way, at least 40k for a 304hp DI v6.
The SHO is around 40k with a 365hp TT v6...it'll be interesting

it competes with the holden commodore which is the same as the pontiac g8. you can get one with a turbo inline 6 or a 5.4 V8

I don't know, they seemed to favor the SHO over the 300, despite the small gap in mpg's. It seemed like they had nothing but good things to say about it throughout the test.

Any of you blokes ever seen or heard of the Ford Mondeo out the UK ?, they make a family saloon , but also a high end performance model that would blow you away - check it out.,not unlike the Falcon. Ford have a wonderful pedigree when it comes to performance cars out of UK, I'm thinking of the Lotus Cortina from the 60's, The hot Ford Capri's from the 70's ( our version I suppose of the Mustang), The GT Ford Sierra's of the 80's & 90's. I constantly wonder what happened to the global car models so often talked about by Ford, wish you guys could drive some of these wonderful Ford European models, for Gods sake they are made by an American car company !!!!!, The UK has hot Ford Focus & Fiesta's, but when they arrive here are de-tuned to meet regulations I suppose - such a shame, + European fuel is higher octane & provides hotter performance - a curse on regulations.

I use to not like Tauruses either, but we had a rental one time it was a 2000 se. It was a comfy and nice driving car. If I needed a family car I would consider one. But if I had 40g's to toss at a family car I would consider the new SHO and dump another 5k in performance lol.
