i was working on the car tonight and managed to drop a spray bottle straw into my cylinder from the spark plug hole.
i tried fishing it out with a piece of fine wire and a small glob of glue, but that didn't work at all.
i can just see the bugger through the immensely deep and narrow hole, but can't figure a way to get it.
am i bound to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars tearing the whole engine apart to get this thing out? or is there a magical fix for idiots like me who may have done this in the past?
please tell me there's a solution short of a tear down.... please!

john, thanks. that's exactly what i need. i had a mental picture of that last night as i drifted off to a restless sleep of counting the money i'm dumping into my car. do you know if they sell those at normal auto parts stores?
i think that tool might just save me, hopefully.

Its not nice to laugh at misfortune, but i did chuckle a little, lol I've done something like this at work doing a fuel service. Cleaning out the throttle body with the TB spray and OOPS, the tube came off the can and through the throttle body, and into the intake Luckily i was able to use the mechanical fingers as well and get it out. Now i make sure the tube is pressed into the nozzle real good. Glad it worked out for you

funny how you never look at a spray tube/straw the same again.
i was cleaning everything up today and with every spray, i pushed the straw back into the nozzle. i did have a little more peace of mind with the fingers at my disposal.

we only laugh when someone dumps water or nos engergy drinks in their ride... now if you would started the car and hoped it metled away the stray... you mighta got some jokes thrown your way...
I'm glad you were able to get that out... seems very tricky w/o those fingers.
