mig welding aluminum is not fun! lol I gobbed it on there and had to grind it off. The thin wall didn't help much. I blew a few holes in it and had to fill that in with weld then grind the inside and outside.
I'll be hitting it with the dremel and polishing it up.

yeah MIG welding alumn. isn't that great. don't have a TIG machine available? that would make it a hell of alot quicker/easier. im sure you know that though.
looks pretty decent though

thats the great part about having a dad that works in a sign company... he can weild, paint, etc anything for free.

Yeah, we don't have a tig welder at work. I welded a 1" bung onto the blower intake elbow tonight and that went a lot better. I got the settings closer to what they should be on the welder. I was welding too hot last night. I put it on the lowest heat setting and it was much easier.
I haven't had any trouble with plugging up the gun either. I'm gonna probably try and do some more welding tomorrow and we will see how that goes.

I'm gonna powdercoat it, don't think I can get the pipe smooth otherwise.
