So I have the mach 460 syatem and i plan on taking it out and putting an aftermarket headunit and aftermarket speakers in with an amp and 2 12's. So I need to rewire everything and I need to know what the Orange w/white wire is supposed to go to, the manual says "To lighting switch terminal" and I don't know what that means, Dimmer switch by chance? But everything else I believe I can figure out.

why would you do that? a harness is the best way to go. i can get you the wiring specs for your car if you would like.

Harness will work, just swap the speakers???
Maybe I misunderstood though.
Dont buy harnesses at BestBuy. Those fckers ruined my first set of speakers. Terminals were shoddy and were real loose and the thing kep popping in and out, finally my speakers blew.

WTF there's no quick reply...
Anyways, I run my aftermarket units off a harness, but have seperate 12 gauge wiring run to all my speakers that I hook up seperately, not that big of a deal really. And thankfully my new cd player has Front and Rear Pre-amp outs, so that solves a problem I've been working on for a while, now to buy another amp.

where did you get the harness and how much? and you mean you bypass all the stock amps by wiring the speakers with the 12 gauge wire? O yeah and would it be possible to still use the stock cd player as a second cd player?

Why would you want to use the stock cd player as a secondary? Just buy a good aftermarket headunit and go with that, get a zim panel to go over the spot it leaves in the bottom. I get my wiring harnesses from a local stereo shop around here ( I do alot of stereo installs and work). Just go to a stereo shop, or even wal mart, they might have one that will work. But the stereo shop will have one that will work guaranteed. This way you don't have to cut any of your factory wires. And actually you could run all your stock amps with an aftermarket cd player if you know how to do it too.

which adapter would be the one to get? I was thinkin the second one. because i dont want to use the stock amps. and i was thinkin of the stock cd player just for shits and giggles and so i dont have to change cds so often, just somethin i was thinkin not sure if im gonna try, but i have a premier DEH-P560MP headunit to put in.

For hooking up the factory cd player to your Premier unit, you'll need an auxiliary input device, which is around 50 bucks last time I checked, for that kind of money, you can just buy a 12 disc changer, put that in your trunk, and be very happy.

And as far as those adaptors go, I'm not sure what your car has, the one on the left fits my car...so I would guess the other one fits your car. The one on the left is for a newer 460 system cd player.

well they both came up in my search on crutchfield that is why I am confused. But I was thinkin that if i get the one on the right I could use the adapter for the power and such but then just run new speaker wires. DO you think that would work? O yeah and Im not gonna do the stock cd player, I'll just get either a plate or one of those cubby hole things.
