felpro makes header gaskets???? i have the same problem the best thing is make sure there is no sealer involved no matter what it is. the "sealer" helps it to slip out i got mine cheap at o'riellys 13 bucks for both sides i believe
Someone gave me this link but I wen down to Autozone and had them order me a set of Felpro's, i still have the box in my car if anyone needs proof they exist. I got them for 15, and this website list them for 20+shipping.
Steel core graphite faced gaskets tend to be the best for use in header applications.
The steel core helps prevent blow out and the graphite facing allows movement cause by the differences in expansion rates between the aluminum head and steel header flange.
But if you are stuck using paper header gaskets (old tech) then soak them overnight in water and install them wet.
ok ponycarman does any one make any steel core gaskets for my car
Not a clue. I don't even know what the factory gaskets look like off hand. Just years of experience with other engines that form the basis of my statements. I'll dig around and see what I can find out though.
