What do you think is more worth it?
I finally gave into my desire of having a V8 as of right now and decided to just stick with the sixer and see how far I can take her. I don't plan on doing anything other than rims and the whole gear package thing this summer but I do plan on bumping her up to the next level the following year. my question is.. should i stick with a turbo or a supercharger or should i go for the 4.2? i honestly dont think i could install the 4.2 myself (i have some knowlege but i havent gotten my hands THAT dirty yet). what are the approximate prices, approximate hp numbers, difficulty etc. im still a bit of a n00b when it comes to this stuff so i rely on your info. suggestions? oh and should i go with 3.73s instead of 4.10s if i plan on supercharging or turbocharging in the later years?

on paper the installation seems super easy... but in the real world its not nearly as easy as it seems. if you have good common since, CAN and WILL follow directions to the letter and have a good comprehension level for the instructions and can find any good ones for that matter... then you may could do the install.
a 4.2 by its self on a stock motor is not that much more than a stock 3.8 ... its when you go blown that it really shines.

eh then i doubt i will do that. ill probably supercharge or turbo. how much am i lookin at there? also, will i need to do any engine work before i do that? and the question about the gears.. will a supercharger/turbo and 4.10s be a bit too much? especially with traction issues?

Are you talking just put the 4.2l crank in and leaving your stock cam, heads and intake? You won't see alot because your cam will be too mild for the 4.2l crank.

supercharger or turbo. im lookin through old topics in the power adders section.
im not sure which way to go. hell, i dont even know how much itll cost or what to get haha. i got major research to do. i think the fact that im getting gears this summer also has to relect on future mods too. i mean.. if i plan on getting one will 4.10 be overkill?
