engine block is done and with 4.2 kit and .030 overbore it works it out to a 4.3 and 257 cid +or _ a couple. tech helping me thinks its ironic that my stang is almost the same displacement as his '64 1/2 289
LOL

I will be taking pictures and making notes as soon as assembly takes place. All parts notes will be detailed as to what parts need to be changed ,and where I found them . Also, with this i'm doing an AOD trans with fresh rebuild and B&M shift kit with B&M converter (mild not a high stall. 500RPM's over stock stall speed. with an 8.8 equiped with 3.27 gears and posi when done.

i'm curious about why'd you stick with 3.27's as well.
is the 4.2L without the .030" bore and that makes the .1L difference?

ok 'vert your first... I'm sticking with 3.27's because this car will see lots of highway use hence the AOD with 3.27's . gas milage is an issue.
powerstang... yes the overbore gains about a tenth of 1 liter over six barrels. crazy huh?

I get the gas mileage arugment... kinda...
Before my 4.10's I was getting 20-21mpg now I get about 18mpg.. but have seen 20 if I go easy...
the difference between the 3.27's and 4.10's is worth the extra $1 per tank to me!

is it a mustang block or supercoupe? what year?
eventually i'll take a supercoupe block and built up from there. i'll probably have to bore it as well but i'd like to get away with not doing it. i'd be scared stroking it more than 4.2L because of the high boost at low rpms that i'll be seeing. i'm trying to build a torque monster. hopefully a good starting point for a badass autox car.
i'd like to hear waaay more info if just for good reading.

Ok power stang your first: The engine I'm using is a 1987 unit out of a standard T-Bird, due to the more efficient design of the '84 head using the "heart-shaped" combustion chamber, and since my car is pre-FI, the standard or a higher volume fuel pump is a bolt-on no brainer. Also with this configuration I can use the same belt system as came with my car ('83 stang conv). The internals will be a bolt in process(also no "oil -slinger" on crank). My block has been mag-fluxed,align-honed with all new cam bearings, and deck has been machined and all gasket faces trued and had the oil and grease cooked out. The reason the block was bored was due to a faulty head gasket letting water lay in the chambers on a couple of cylinders so to clean it out it was machined out.

99 vert: This car will be "used" not a garage princess, and will be used on a daily basis to go wherever I go. This also means driving it on lots of interstates due to the rural nature of where I live. (and based on wear and tear of engine parts) Another consideration is that my lady and I spend $80.00 just on going to work each week just in fuel alone for 2 cars. Coupled with maintenance(oil changes, fluids, filters, tires) you get the Idea. With all the "young" dudes on here the words "mortgage, kids, health care costs and things of this nature", don't mean much yet. LOL

When I built Jose's I calculated it to be exactly 260 cubes...
30 over w/4.2 crank.
