Fog light Troubleshooting

So my foglights haven't been working in a while so yesterday i rewired them. I think I have a bad ground, but not sure. My stock switch lights up like its supposed to so I know the blue wire thats tapped into the white wire by the switch is getting some power, but I haven't tested the other wires, relay, & bulbs themselves. My reasoning behind thinking that the culprit is a bad ground is because I have never known exactly what to ground the two black wires from the bulbs to? I have used a ton of different grounds too! I currently am using one of the green bolts close to the battery for the Driver's side and the hood latch support bolt on the passenger side. My fuse is good and the wiring is only about 1 year old and bought new from velocity mustang performance, however I've always had issues with the foglights working the way they are suppose to....so I'm looking for some help. Thanks.

I think you're going to have to check all those connections and bulbs.
It's very possible it is a bad ground, do you have a multimeter?
Your ground wire should be attached to bare metal which is also the chassis or connected to the chassis. Just a bolt may not really work, especially when the surface is painted and or the bolt/metal does not conductive.

I have a test light, but no multimeter. Right so what bolt do you use to ground these two wires + the main ground wire that comes off the foglight relay?

Well I'm not really familiar with the set up you have. If the wires end close together you can ground them all in the same spot, or an existing ground wire by splicing in.
If the surface is painted then you can get some rough grit sandpaper or even a razor blade and expose the bare metal around the hole.
You can still use the test light. Attach the wire to the positive end on the battery and use the probe to poke around for a good ground. A good ground will let the light shine nice and bright.

Ok thanks. I'll do that. I have the same set up that comes on the 99-04 GT's including the correct switch, relay, and wiring, kit.
