ABS Light On 2000 Mustang GT Conv

I have a 2000 Mustang GT, Auto, Conv. The ABS light is coming on in the mornings after about 10-20 minutes of driving (depending on the temp, Hotter it is the quicker it comes on). In the evenings on the way home, if it's in the mid eighties or higher the light will come on when I start the car and stay on for about 20 minutes or so then go off, (most of the time). I have about a 35 minute drive between home and work. Car has 46K miles.

i have the same car as you.
i just had to repace one of my rear abs sensors.
i had to special order it from advance auto parts. it was about $50 plus tax.
it mounts on the rear brake assembly with a small bolt and sort of sits like a plug in a hole. if you spray it with some wd 40 and wiggle/pull it, it'll come out. the wire routs up toward the front of the car, through the floor board and connects under the rear seat.
if you're getting ittermittent errors, you probably have a sensor on the fritz, or you may have a loose/corroded connection under the rear seat.
the sensor is a very strong little magnet that picks up a reading from another little magnet mounted on the axle. i'm not sure what could go wrong with the magnets. my old sensor still had plenty of "magnet juice" left.
i'd recommend checking the connection under the rear seat first. maybe someone spilled some coke on it or something.
the rear seat is held in by two pins at the front. if you feel around, you'll find them pretty easily. push the little buttons in front of them and give 'er a good yank straight up.

Thanks for the info. I will check the connection uder the seat. Have you ever heard of gapping the sensors? A person on another form said to clean the sensors and if that didn't work to regap them. I had not heard of that before. Again thanks.

i have not heard of gapping the sensor. i'm really a novice with this kind of detail.
my light was on when i bought the car. a local shop ran the diagnostic computer and found the bad sensor. i replaced it and so far, i've not had the warning light.
the magnet part of the sensor sticks out from the plastic housing like a wand. it maybe 1/8" diameter and sticks out less than 1/2" i did not see any way to adjust it. the way it mounts didn't have any kind of noticable adjustment. i really didnt' spend much time looking at it, to be honest.
i suppose you could remove the old one and spray the tip with brake cleaner and see if perhaps it's just gunked up with brake dust and the magnet isn't conducting like it should?
i backed the car up on ramps so it was good and high off the ground. you really have to crawl back under the car to get at this spot. if you can get all four corners up in the air, it would be even better.
getting the old one out of the hole it sits in was harder than i thought it would be. it has a retaining bolt, but it sits so tight in the hole, that it was tough to get out. i would avoid prying it with a tool, but rather twist it back and forth repeatedly while pulling on it. it's not a terribly solid part and you might break it if you try prying it.
i'm also not entirely sure where the magnet that goes in the axle sits. i'm assuming there is one in the axle because i read a little bit of info on the system before i did the work
