12 volt source in start & crank position

I am doing a efi swap in my 1964 1/2 Mustang and I am having problems with finding a source that gives 12 volts in both the start and crank position.I was trying to use a ignition wire that was hooked up to a stereo but in the crank position it loses voltage. Would I maybe have to tap into the wire directly behind the key ignition switch?

I do not think there is a wire that gives off +12v during crank other then the crank wire. Going into the ignition may solve some problems.

What you also might want to concern yourself with is current as the current behind the radio may not be high enough.

I've never done an EFI swap though so I really don't know what you need a wire for both for.

I believe the oil pressure switch may get constant voltage, or you could just tap into the starter relay.

Or how about run a lead straight to the battery then, if you're just looking for a constant.

i would find them one at a time with the switch off only one will have power thats your main power turn to ACC the the one that just got power is acc then turn to Run (but dont start)thats the one you want then the last one should go to the starter The hard part is to measure them at some times i have nicked the wire enought to see the wire but not cut through GOOD lUCK
