H or straight ?

What will be the difference in sound or performance if I put a steeda adapter or I weld the GT Takeoffs straight true duals without any H (in both cases I remove the Y and I keep the stock cats) ?

Performance, none, the 3.8 V6 is an even firing engine, not needing a H/X pipe to equalize pressure from side to side.

Now then...sound. This is a debate that has gone on forever and will always continue. Some ppl say a H-pipe will give you a deeper sound than true duals. But...I don't notice this difference in sound. I have my exhaust (mach 1 takeoff's) run true duals, and I love the sound (just slightly louder and deeper than gt takeoff's). If it was me, I'd say go with the true duals.

Now that I actually read your post...I see that you wanna know the difference in sound between using a steeda adaptor and just welding the takeoff's straight up. The only big difference I can think of, is if you ever wanna take your exhaust off, the steeda adapter will work best. Running true duals, welding them right up (as I have my car done) is the cheapest way to do this by far....but whatever you really want to do man.

Thank you very much for your advice, I'll make them weld, I don't think I'll have to remove them until the date I'll change them and as the Takeoffs are in stainless steel they will last for a long time (I hope...)

my car has true dual exhaust but it has no mufflers but it still has 2 high flow cats. It sounds really good at idle and until around 2500 rpms but after that its all ricey from there. but i just recently purchased a new cam and heads for my car so that will help the exhaust sound. it will sound more like a v8 now but as everyone knows the only way to sound like a v8 is to have a v8.

I like X pipes myself, but the guys are right, probably no gains from using it at
all. I'd use it for sure if you generate alot of exhaust (like a stroker, SC or NOS)
but an NA 3.8 probably is fine with straight duals. (no crossover)
