Where I am now..
In a great location, close to work - close to the beach.. But I'm in a condo, I have one parking space and soon to have 3 cars, and the garage is a TIGHT fit.. Current roomate is okay but he has a fetish for owning MANY things so I've been very limited in my living arrangement.
Not working out so hot.
The plan when I moved out here was to move in with a friend when he started here at Toyota also - and he's here - I've been here 6 months now - It's time to find a place
Spent the past 3 weeks house hunting
Ended up coming across one owned by another Toyota employee..
The bad: as a whole, the house is smaller than where I am now, it has limited storage space and basically I would call it a bungalow, it's also more expensive than where I'm staying now by $125/month
HOWEVER.. the good far outweighs the bad
1) 2 car detached garage with gated parking for 2 more, long driveway and plenty of street parking
2) freshly remodeled, not a dump like many houses we've seen around here
3) area is good, house is surrounded by multi million dollar mansions
4) .4 miles from the beach, driving up to the house, you can see the water, front yard and living room have views of redondo beach and the pacific
So yeah.. We couldn't pass it up, even for the extra cost. We start moving in on Monday
I can't wait to be in a beach house with a view and within walking distance, I'll be there most likely every night
The house is about 2 miles from where the picture in my sig was taken

sounds like a good plan, i live in a one bedroom apt. with my wife, we don't really have a definite parking place, but when we had 3 cars everyone gave us funny looks :S rent is cheap and there is nothing around here.
i grew up in the very SW corner or Oregon, i don't miss the beach to much, but its a good option when you and your wife/girl friend or w/e like walking, there is actually something to walk to and what not.
overall though it sounds like a good place, i'm a tad confused though, its probably just because i don't know you, but you said "we" move in, was that with your friend from the Toyota place? or some1 else? just curious.

Sounds like a good deal. If you need help just let me know. I have my roommates truck that I can use to help move your stuff. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment near the beach and its definately worth it. You definately won't regret living near the ocean. We'll have to go out for a few beers one of these days and catch up, especially after this crazy weekend haha. It's a war zone down here and in Newport. Wonderful drunkness everywhere you look and lots of gorgeous women haha. Let me know if you want some help moving.

If I can't wrangle up a truck at toyota I'll be sure to harass you - biggest things I need moved that won't fit in the buick are some dressers, a couch, 2 chairs, my bed and a toolbox haha - I might be able to land a toyota hiace for the move (more room than a standard wheelbase econoline van) but we'll see
Thanks for the offer!
Definitely will have to go out, I can drive wherever, as I gave up drinking - should be a good time though!
I love living near the beach.. I lived near the beach basically all my life, except when I was at school in PA

Gave up drinking nah, just giving ya shit. Sounds like a good trade off for a little more money. I live in a 2 bedroom house with a single car garage with a dirt floor, parking on the street when the damn customer from the flower shop across the street don't steal it. And a fire department across the other street that loves to turn the sirens on even if they aren't going anywhere at 2 in the fucking morning. What i wouldn't give to live by the ocean. lol Good luck.

Haha I agree on the pictures, I have some but didn't get a picture of the view, it's been overcast
But here's a few for now, I'll get more after the house and garage are decked out

That's great on the new place! I have been here for 8 months now & I still havent found anything. Its hard for me to focus on paying $1700 for a place that in NC would only bee $550.00 - it hurts my ego. LOL.
SoCal peeps - are any of you heading out to the V6 Mustang meet this weekend at Dodger Stadium? (V6 Mustang Meet - Southern California's Largest V6 Mustang Gathering) I haven't seen anything around here posted about it.... Just asking....
Congrats again!

I would take the stang for a drive and go but it's my little cousins B-day on Saturday. I'm heading out to Chino for her party. Def. let us know if you go and take some pics. If you know of any other shows toss it out there as well.
I have only been here for a little over a year now and Monte is going on 6 months or so. I'm from Pa and he is from NJ so we understand the money thing haha.

Its just CRAZY out here. Yay for fellow East Coasters! I swear Cali people look at me like I am some kind of alien.
I will be in attendance & taking pictures! I am very excited to see what the shows on the West Coast are all about. I will be sure to report back with everything I see.
As far as future events, I know that at least once every two months there is a cruise. Last month they did a cruise in Long Beach.
This should be an interesting experience to say the least... ;-)
