Yeh well today I was just crusing wit the tunes blasting and all of a sudden my cd player turned off and turned back on by itself about 10 sec later....but the problem is the subs weren't hitting anymore. So anyway I get home and I see that the power light on my amp is not coming on....I checked all of the connections and everything seems fine but the amp won't turn on....I was going to check the fuses so I just went to get some new ones and couldn't find any 40's....so I got 30's....will 30's work and if thats not the problem what could it be?

are you talking about the fuses on the power wire or in the amp itself?

Its really easy to check the amp fuses... just pull them out... the inline fuse would not cause your cd player to go off nor would the amp fuses unless you shorted something with the remote wire. The remote wire is the only power source linking the amp and cd player

Check 1. amp fuses, 2. cd player fuses, 3. inline fuses, 4. ground connection on battery, 5. ground connection on cd player, 6. power connection on amplifier, 7. remote wire on amplifier, 8. remote wire on cd player. If you can't come up with anything after all this let me know...

Sounds like a shorted remote wire. Check that wire.

well it definitly wasn't the amp fuses....so I went to the inline fuse but i couldn't get it out...I tugged so hard the plastic came off so anyway i couldn't get the metal out so i kindof squished the metal together so i could force the plastic piece back on....and now it works...I want to get a whole new fuse to replace it tho since it is all messed up....but I can't seem to get it out.....

Just cut the wire on each side of the inline fuse, and go up to wal mart or somewhere, spend 10 bucks, and buy a new one.

NP man. I shattered one of my inline fuses, and tried to Jerry rig it, but it ended up being better just buying another one. Mine was like 20 bucks I think, and that was for a Rockford Fosgate inline fuse for 6 gauge wire.

I run a 40 amp at the moment, for one 800 watt amp. I'm about to be running two 800 watt amps, so I'm either gonna update to 1/2 gauge wire, or get another 6 gauge. If nothing else, wait till monday, go to a local stereo shop, and get one there. I like the type fuse mine uses too, instead of a blade style fuse, I use a straight fuse, it's big as anything. But a stereo shop should have anything you need and hopefully a minor knowledge as to what you need lol. You never know.

Try having a sub and amp....but no cd player. I've been driving around with one of my 12's in and an amp hooked up to it...but my cd player has been shipped off for warranty work...for 5 weeks now. Really starting to get old. So yeh, I know exactly how you feel. If you wanna run up to wal mart, I believe they carry inline fuses....I think. Haven't been in their stereo section in quite a while, always depresses me to see what they call speakers.
