Well I just got one of Zim's panels and I want to put a light behind it. What would be the best way to wire a light back there? I was thinkin of wiring it into my stereo for power.

tap into the head light wire that way when you turn on your head lights, the light turns on.

my suggestion is a neon stick.. wire it to your cigarette lighter. i have both my underbodies and interiors wired to that. there is a crap load of unnecessary electricity goin to that thing.

Ok, I can see you cant take a ******* joke, so I'll just have to give you the smartass answer you were looking for. : Geez
Hard wire from a hot lead into a 6" to 10" neon stick. One end to your ground, the other to a switch in your panel (if thats what you want to do).
There is enough room behind the pane, on top of the stock amplifier to put even a 10" stick. Obviously, you wont get as much light from a 4" or 6". The coverings of the center front console is sufficient to hide MOST of the light, but the light will bleed out slightly from the access ports on the sides near the back of the console.
Matching lights to swtiches is your deal and you'll have to figure that part out on your own since ther are about a milllion different shades of green

when do you want the light to come on? the stereo has a key hot and an all time hot wire... if you run it there it will be on anytime the car is turned on unless you wire a switch to it.
You could have ran it off the rear defroster if you had it over there... which you dont on your year, and the accesory power is all time hot...

Like whoever said, wire it to your headlight wire or check your user manual for a fuse that is only hot when the ignition is on.
