I know lowering a Mustang yields great handling benefites, but will it be fine with a Roush body kit.
The sideskirts sit only 5in. off the ground. Who would lower it?

depends where you drive it, to get out of my parking lot i have to go over about a good 2 in drop on to some uneven road, getting out of the drive way might be good, but getting back might be another story.
if you do it, just be aware of the roads, a little dip here or there if big enough will scrape that. I think i have seen lower though, it just really depends on where you drive it.

it will have greater potential for scraping without a doubt, probably will scrape on the back edge of it. do you see anything lower under your car or is that the lowest part

Why not use Roush springs to lower the car? Stage 2 and 3 cars all got a suspension upgrade with that same body parts.

This is how low my car is...and it's easily daily drivable, just bottoms out alot lol.
When I get the car back on the ground this weekend I'll measure from the sideskirts and then from the lowest point.

the side skirts on 03/04 cobras are not the issue, the cats hang lower. My cross member brace (verts only) is my issue, that sucker hits everything

LilRoush, I called Roush and their springs only lower it 1.2 in front and .8 in back. It sounds pretty decent. However, their shocks ($700) are "specifically tuned for the car", but I don't think they even come near the quality of Koni's.

Yeah, my cross brace hits everything too...well, everything in the land fill. Mine disappeared a long time ago...but it did take a beating when it was on there.

Koni's are crap compared to how well matched the Roush springs and the Roush spec Bilsteins are. They drop the car about 1.5" once it settles.

No. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Btw, for what it's worth, Jack Roush's son races in the Koni Challenge Series in a Mustang with a Koni suspensions...Just FYI....

if you like koni's thats fine just have the valve on them for valved to match the rate of the spring
1.2 inches aint very much really, you will want more but you are being wise to hold off due to the side skirts being so low

I was talking about slapping on some off the shelf Koni dampers vs. using the Roush suspension designed to work together.
And I'm very aware of the Koni Challenge. The Roush family is into more or less all automotive racing these days.

The Roush spring/shock kit is $1000, completely overpriced for what it is. I would get the Koni suspension package, but it lowers the car too much. My original plan was to put the Roush springs on the Koni's, but they aren't compatable.
Don't know if i'm over reading into it too much or if I should man up and buy the damn thing.

Where are you seeing that price? Sounds more like the full out package, not just shocks/struts.
Ever driven a car with the Roush suspension package? Or what are you using to compare performance to price?

The Roush store online sells the shocks/springs individually that add up to a grand. However I was looking on carparts.com and found the shocks and struts for $600 and Troyfordracing.com selling the springs for $186.
The only concern I have is lowering the car too much.
If I don't like the amount it drops, do you know where to get spacers?

If it drops too far, put the stock stuff back in.
Check out Stage 3 Motorsports for Roush goodies. They usually have the lowest prices, and back everything with amazing customer service.
