Correct me if im wrong please. I am looking about buying a 1997 Stage 2 Roush Mustang GT.
It is an automatic, did they make the roush as an automatic? I have been looking everywhere to see and cant find any info.
What can i look for to confirm it is the Roush?

Looks like a GT with some roush stickers and aftermarket bumpers to me, but you never know...though I don't remember Roush making any auto mustangs either.

I am 99.9% certain that it's a GT with some Roush add-ons, and not a real Roush Stage 2...
I see at least (2) very obvious, glaring things that signal that it's a fake:
(1) The wheels are standard 17x8" GT wheels for those cars
(2) The Stage 2 came with springs which would have lowered the car. The car pictured above is still sitting at the stock monster-truck looking ride height...

I call clone. It has stock wheels, stock springs, and roush used to put Jack roush signature stickers on the quater windows. This car doesn't have that. And it doesn't have roush on the head rest.

Well, I'll go against the grain with some facts.
Roush made automatic cars. (Shocker I know, even more shocking than V6 Roush cars.)
Take the VIN and run it through the VIN checker on Roush's website. With the early SN95 cars it's somewhat hit and miss, so if it's not there it may not be a fake. Prior to 2001 there were several dealerships that made "real" Roush's for them.
However, what this one is would be a Stage 1. It lacks the suspension and wheels that would set it off as Stage 2. Although, I will give that car props for the hard to find original RI Roush front windshield logo. Not many of those around. Roush stopped making them, and the new ones lack the RI logo prior to the R O U S H lettering.

roush does odd things with their packages, you will simply need to call roush and give them the vin and they can tell you 100% if it is or is not... either way its just a GT with looks for the most part and 96-98 gts are known to be EXTREMLY slow especially in auto form. A manual mustang is much more fun to drive.. so dont not buy one because you dont know how to drive it as you will regret it. If you have to have the auto for some reason then thats fine just FYI before you make the mistake.
the roush wont be worth very much either way as it has a GT vin and to the insurance company and such its a GT

Roush didn't put seats, gauges or valve covers in all their cars. Those became options on Stage 2 and the Stage 2 plus cars in the 95-98. Intakes were VERY limited on the 5.0L cars in '95 only. In 96-98, the Stage 2 + was the SC'd version (used the SVO roots blower) since Stage 3 didn't show up until 2001.
