I asked this question before but I didn't ask enough questions. But I was going to buy the factory navigation system for my mustang but I was wondering if there is a antenna and if so where does it go? Ive seen a few mustangs with a little black "tear drop" looking thing on the rear deck lid, is this it? Also is the navigation service free or do I have to pay Ford for a subscription or what. Any one with a 2007 up mustang with this option please tell me about it.
Thanks

I'm nearly positive there is an antenna. If you pick one up "aftermarket" then you can probably place it anywhere you'd like, unless Ford includes the wiring for it during production which could be possible.
Those black tear drops could be GPS antennas or Satellite Radio Antennas either of which is aftermarket.
If no one can really help perhaps looking at the 07 shop or repair manual can help.

the antenna you see on the decklid is the XM radio antenna. the nav. unit does have an antenna and it's mounted under the upper dash pad. there is no service fee of any kind for the nav system. Ford makes a kit to upgrade to factory nav. in the 05+ mustang, but I don't have the part number anymore. sorry.

also you have to already have the shaker 500 or 1000 system to upgrade to the nav system.

I'm pretty positive I have the Shaker 500 but let me check, and Tousley Ford has the navigation stuff I would need.

Yeah I have the Shaker 500. But why couldn't I get the navigation if I didn't have the Shaker 500 or Shaker 100?

Ok so I emailed Tousley Ford and they said that if my car didn't come with the navigation it cant be added in. Should I ask my local Ford Dealer to confirm this or what cause I thought it would be cool to have (well I need a navigation and thought it be better to stay OEM)?
