Hey guys, I am doing a favor for a family member who is getting a divorce, she has a 6 cylinder from 65, grey with black vinyl roof, she is the second owner, she bought it when she was 17, now she is 44. She has not seen the car in 12 years it has been tucked away in a rental property garage, I had a few conversations with her now ex about the car a few years back and he said it needs a total resto, but it is complete and probably numbers matching hardtop coupe, not a fast back. I am just asking how much you guys think it,s worth, if it even worth the hassle to dig it up and have it trailer a couple of hundred kilometers to my place to try to sell it for her. Give me you oppininons, and oh yes I do not want to restore it since i have a black 2000 gt conv already all fixed up, but it has crossed my mind.

Its def worth trying to sell. Especially in a numbers matching condition. It's prob worth a couple grand minimum depending on condition.

If that's a true number's matching straight six, I'd go for it. Those are hard to find these days. A guy at the Iola Car Show was selling one in the swap tents in fair condition, someone bought it for 5k...it was a 3spd, but still, that's a decent chunk of change for a car in that condition.

well i would say its worth all i have and i would give you all of it for this, but that equals about -5k... i seriously want an older project like that, sounds like it would be fun, specially since it was tucked away. w/o pics i would just randomly say 5-10k... thats what i've seen all those styles going on craigslist as, well that and up since some people think that just a rusted shell goes for 20k :S It's probably more of a question as whats it worth to the owner and is that price reasonable to sell, i would have a really hard time getting rid of a 65 mustang, or even my 94...

And this will be the dilema selling it. I personally don't think its worth even 5k unless running good with very little rust. However the trend today is that anything old is worth a crap ton. I'm not saying bloody or anyone else is wrong, cause i've seen the prices too, just saying I wouldnt pay it. But ya, post pictures then search ebay, craigslist, etc for your area and see what they are going for.

i've been trying to save up some money (not working) and get a hold of one for around 1200 or so, but those are definitely huge projects... ill hopefully be able to start a car project once school starts (probably more just after 1st term)

Last year saw a 200 six cylinder, three speed, coupe go for 4500.00 non numbers matching but it was straight.... |
