Ive decided to learn how to play the guitar. No real formal lessons or anything, just gonna do some jammin' with a couple buddies in the house. Tonight I learned a few different notes and played an A and B over and over and then another guy went off on some solo while i kept a rythm goin... it was pretty sweet, plus the chicks love guitars. Hopefully in a year or so Ill be decent

Guitar is an awesome thing. I've been playing for over 10 years and its one thing that I would never give up. Keep practicing man and you'd be surprised the things you can do with a guitar.

im actualy pretty goodive been playing for 8 months and i can play a fe songs. the pixies, nirvana ,the doors, the smiths, i know a few songs by all of them i can play harmonys as well as melodys.

sweet dude guitar is addicting, cause some nights youll just start wailing away and venting emotions and shit and look at the clock and 2 hours went by like 5 minutes. i started out with bass then moved on to guitar just to broaden my horizons, and never really went back to bass cause i realized i didnt like playing in the background, im more frontman kinda type.

i personally think thats the best/easiest way to learn. experience and fun... (talking about playing in a band and/or just jammin)

bass and drums > guitar

also... i know exactly what you mean.. ill wake up on a saturday with nothing to do and ill take a shower and maybe play some video games.. then i pick up the guitar.. next thing you know its dark out. thats how you get good though and how stuff is created. days like this i go to my band and im like hey i made an awesome bassline. a distortion pedal with 80 distortions helps too haha.. just playing around with that is a lot of fun. oh.. and lastly.. my pedal has drum beats on it too.. like.. 20+ on it. that way i can jam whenever...

Guitar is awesome man, I've played off and on for 5 years now. Gave up the drums for the guitar to be more in the front. What guitar did you get, what amp you runnin it thru and what effects you playin with

Good deal. BTW doesnt hurt to take lessons I took lessons for two years on bass and let me tell you best 20 bucks a session ever spent. Learned alot more and quicker with someone showing me then learning on my own.
