I don't think sponges with soap built in so you don't have to go through the trouble of finding a "bucket" and "putting car wash soap in it" are really marketed toward the meticulous car snob.

my only concern with them as if you have anything really nasty on the car it cant go anywhere but on the surface of the sponge and then ground into your paint

Yeah I know, I just mean that the people that are generally looking for the "quick and easy" solution generally aren't the same people that see some swirl marks and break out paint cleaner, polish, clay bar, and wax, and then keep quick detailer and some terry towels in the trunk
Spongetech is an easy solution for the person just looking to wash their daily beater at home once every month or two that isn't really concerned about keeping it in pristine condition. You know the type, "cars are transportation and nothing more" "as long as i get from point a to point b" "its not an investment its an expense" type people.

Hell, that's me. I'm not going to spend 7 hours washing a car so I can back out the driveway and hit 79 bugs before I get out of my apartment complex.

Brent. Always looking out for the bottom line. If it wasn't such a pain to wash a truck with a small sponge I would probably get one.
