about 100 hp, lol...probably night and day is more appropriate. The mach 1's were rated at 305hp while the the cobra's were underrated at 390.
Rwhp is probably 270 for the Mach 1, about 400ish for the cobra (~425) crank.
Plus, the cobra is a better platform and has much more potential - 6spd, forged internals, already supercharged, a few quick mods and you'll be close to 500 hp.
A decent cobra can be had for 17-20+k with 20-40k miles. I wouldn't buy one with over 40,000 miles personally. Mach 1's can go for 13-18k depending on miles of course.
Should also consider, an oxford white Mach 1 with the auto tranny is about the only rare Mach 1, so don't let some fool try and screw ya because he thinks his torch red manual Mach 1 is gold, they're a dime a dozen, and often overpriced.

03/04 cobras are about 425hp/415tq stock from ford~ are about 3650lbs, IRS rear end, 6 speed trans, hand built forged motor capable of 700rwhp with stock engine or more depending on setup.
mach 1s are 305hp/300tq~ stock and are about 3500lbs, live axle,5 speed vs cobras 6 speed, engine cant handle as much as its not forged.
both are great cars, the cobra just has much more potential

the tremic t56 is a plus with the cobra alot of guys will swap out there 5 speed of these but at the same time the IRS on the cobra can be a weak link if you dont do the supporting mods to it. if your looking for crazy power like 700+ cobra hands down if you just want 400 to 500 maybe the mach 1 is for you

the IRS is a weak link stock but with some investment can be made extremly nice. Is it cheaper to ditch it and go with a live axle?... yup. It will perform just fine for the track with a live axle.... but in every other scenario you will lose performance IMO. Its all about what you use the car for.
I dont really consider the 6 speed a real advantage over the 5 speed other than in strength track wise but autox its better.
In the current market mach 1s are nearly as much as cobras due to how much the 03/04 has came down recently~ you can get a very nice low mileage mach 1 for 16-18k or you can get a very nice low mileage 03 cobra for 17-20k.

they say the limit is 450rwhp in the T-56 but ive seen that number blown away I would say for a DD track car 450 is a good limit for for occasional fun more like 600rwhp.

I have seen stock T-56 hold some crazy power. Mine tranny is all stock and never had one issue out of it. I also have a friend with 3.4 whipple and a 100 shot on his stock T-56. The car has been together for about 6 months now. I have been thinking he is going to break it any day now ,but its still holding strong.
