There was a great post here- a few weeks ago-another member came up with the "OE" solution-fairly easy to mount switch/ + wire-in the similar location as the SN95 button.

Why?!? lol
While I think it's stupid to not have a trunk button in the car, is it really THAT big a deal that we need aftermarket parts dedicated to it? The old-fashioned "using a key" method works just fine for me...

Well, you could always remove the rear seat...assuming it comes out similar to the 03 seat.

I put a trunk release switch in my car a couple of days ago. It is a new switch for a SN95 Mustang, which cost about $9, a couple of feet of wire and a few connectors for a grand total of about $11-$12.
It's mounted on the inside panel of the glove box. You could also mount it above the hood release on the drivers kick panel.

That looks like a really nice, clean install. How long did that take you to do?

It took about 30 minutes to do mine, then a week later I did one for a friend and it only took 15 minutes because he removed and replaced the interior panels while I was doing other things.
Very straight forward easy to do modification. I still can't understand why FORD omitted this on the S197s.
