Programming wise yes.
The old 9100 also read & cleared codes.
The new xcal-2 due out nest month is the one to wait for.
It will flash as fast as the current xcal but have an lcd screen, read codes & be usb not serial.

Will the Xcal 2 be available for the 99-03 v6's? (04 v6 has it's own thing now for some reason)
Also, where will we be able to get them? (Xcal and Xcal 2) And how much will they cost?
I'm in the market for a SCT tuner and I was just trying to get my information down so that I can make the purchase as soon as I see the right amount of funds.

SCT has always supported 94 up V6s with flashers, the current model flasher is the X-calibrator, it supports 94-05 V6 Mustangs, and 96 up fords. I have 25 x-calibrator V2s on order, the V2 will add additonal features. The X-calibrator V1 will still remain as a lower cost solution. If you are interested in pricing on the X-cal V1 send me an email, justinv6@bellsouth.net Pricing on the X-cal V2 has not yet been released, but I am keeping a list of those interested to notify when the info is available.

You may be looking at a competitors product, such as Superchips, INC, the 04 V6 is different but SCT supports it. Watch out for products out there that are just one size fits all, not custom programmable, and sold by parts warehouses, not actual tuners.

Justin, thanks for your input. Are you saying that Superchips and SCT are two different manufacturers?I have always thought they were the same.

I'm currently using a Jet chip.Could I simply remove the chip and then flash with the Xcal,or is there more to it than that?
Is the Xcal pre-loaded with programs or does it need to be set up for the specific car depending on the mods?

Yes, just remove your chip & then you can use the xcal.
The SCT dealer you purchase it from will load it with the program or programs you decide on.
It needs to be setup specific to your car.

You could remove the jet chip and flash it with an SCT x-cal.
The X-cal is custom programmed by the SCT dealer that you buy it from, but for the end user its very easy to install. Just plug it in, press a few buttons, wait for the lights to stop flashing, and unplug it.
