There are tons of threads like these asking what mods people should do. Intakes are always cheap and have a good hp per dollar ratio . The civic si weighs a lot less than you do and you have an automatic, autos can be made fast but generally it's better to have a manual. Chips and pulleys are good mods in my opinion but the one you'll probably enjoy the most would be a 4.10 lsd. You'll need a chip with it so that you're not top speed limited.

Your 04 auto v6 runs a mid to low 16 stock. If you want to start putting money in your car I'd go with exhaust/intake/gears/chip first.

If ya got deep enough pockets go for it. I've put about 400 into performance in my car and I run on the heels of stock gt's now. And I'm happy with it for now I guess.

as for a 1st mod i dont think turbo or a blower would be so much of a great idea unless he runs low psi

If you have enough to boost it, you may have enough for a better car. Just get the next step up if you can afford it. You'll probably be happier with a better base. After a while you'll realize your v6 will never be a v8.

exactly..of course with the right amount of $$ you can get your car to beat a stock 99-04 GT but in the long run you could just buy a GT for a fraction of what that would cost you to do

Junkyard Swaps man, that is where it is cheap. With a bit of luck, he could find an engine from a Supercoupe or XR7 swap that in change some wired on the Computer.
Hell, I have seen these cars in the JY already, One I know of right now. The SC is gone along with the injectors and IC but the block with the internal forged goodies is still there, along with the computer.
I thought about snagging this stuff earlier but I have no use for the V6 goodies.
If you only count the turbo swap goodies I have about $2000 in my car, that includes the price of the car ($800), the rebuilt 2.3T($900), and all the Misc stuff which I pulled with some time, research, and a sharp eye for what I was looking for.

It really doesn't take that much. Like I say, I have about 4-500 in my car for intake, exhaust, chip, and it makes a world of a difference.

fast as a v8=not losing to anymore hondas im gonna have to say you will be most pleased by gettin 4.10 gears and a tlok tho, if you do that however keep in mind you will need a chip to correct the speedo

Yeh, I have to say gears make the biggest difference. I just happened across a deal on a chip for my car is the only reason I have a chip w/out having my gears or anything. I have access to some 4.10's...if I can talk my dad into letting me use them ...they're kinda in his truck at the moment, along with a t-lok.

well civic ex, lx im sure you wont really have a problem with right now as you stand but the SI is pretty much an even race with a 99-04 mustang v6 5spd with like the other guys said intake exhaust gears tloc and a chip you should be set to go
