Tracking car history

Hello,

I'm from Finland and own 1964 Mustang.
I wonder is it possible to track my car history someway?
I know that it is shipped to here 1990 or 1991.

I know that 1964-1966 invoices are destroyed by Ford, so no help from there.
I only have the VIN code. Is there any national system in Usa that would enable to track car and previous owners with VIN code?

First of all Eddie welcome to the site!

There are a few things you can do to track the history of the vehicle that you own. Now please understand that the records you will receive will only be if the car was serviced at a Ford location or if one of the State facilities put a record on your vehicle. If the car was serviced by a home mechanic from 1970 -1990 - then you may not find to much.

You can take the VIN number that you have and take it to the website CARFAX used car VIN number search, auto history check, vehicle history reports. This website will give you possible service records, sale transactions & accidents.

You can also give your VIN number to a Ford dealership & they can pull your service history for you - that is if they have anything on file. If there is no dealership near you, you can sign up on this site: Owner Log On Page. I was able to pull some service records for my car from there.

Everyone on this site is really helpful & knowledgable - so if the above ideas don't work - I am sure someone around here will chime in with some other possible options for you!

You can also try posting up your VIN and any other body codes you might have, however the only thing we could really decode would be the body style, the engine from the factory, and where it was built. Nothing really to specific though on the car from the VIN.

Thanks for answers. Car fax don't work, it requires 17 digit VIN code.
64 model have 11 digits.

Also https://www.flmowner.com requires 17
