96 gt getting 03gt motor. any advice??

Hey I have a 96 gt with a ton of miles and I was able to get a 03 gt motor out of a rolled car with only 50k on it. I was told that it will drop right in with only minor differences. I know there is a sensor on my manifold now that I need to tap and install into the new intake but besides that I think it will go right in. Is there anything else that I will need to change or will it bolt right up. Also will my computer and harness work with the new motor if I dont use the COP. Any help would be GREAT!!

everything works without a hitch, you can retain the coil packs so you wont have to modify the wiring harness. if u have an aliminum crossover on your old intake u can swap it over to the pi inatke. it is only 4 bolts and a little of silicone required. other than that, it is basically straight forward.

ok thanks I did not know that I could switch the crossovers. What about the ECU? Will I need a custom tune? Mine was programmed with a hypertech programmer but I no longer have the programmer. Will my ECU figure itself out or no? |

u will benifit more with a tune, u will run a little rich until then. the gains from the pi motor alone will make your car feel like another car.

Hell ya I am looking forward to it. I will let you know how it goes and post pics. I ended up getting a whole new interior also so it really will be like a new car. I have an extra set of PI heads now to if anyone needs them I will get rid of them cheap. I can also ship them dirt cheap since I work at Fedex.
