I have purchased RaggTopp Cleaner and protectant for my car but I was wondering it I need to put it on now. The top is clean and is still beading water very well. Should I wait a while or go ahead and us the RaggTopp kit.
Thanks.

I just did my top this past weekend actually.
I don't think you need to do yours yet, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to.

they have a protectant you can put on now and again, then the cleaner can be done as needed. If you daily drive the car I would do the whole thing cleaning and protectant at least twice a year, if its not a daily driver but only on nice sunny weekends... it really doesnt need to be done but every year or two as it never gets wet (minus washing with water if you do that)... hmm if you normally wash with water I would say every year to remove all the crap that the water gets on the car top off.

I do drive it daily but the top is down most of the time (only up when it rains). All I have done with it so far is use one of those sticky lint rollers to get the dust off. Since it is cloth I don't want it to start leaking. I have no experience with a rag top and was not sure how they last.
PS, also why does a vert weight more that a coupe. Since the metel roof should be more weight than the cloth top. Does the motor weight that much?

I'm guessing you are just overestimating the weight of a sheetmetal roof vs. the complete ragtop hardware, including the stuff that makes it go up and down. That or they reinforce the car elsewhere to make up for the lack of a roof to stiffen up the chassis.

The canvas top alone would probably weigh as much as the sheetmetal roof. Then, like Will said, you have the complete frame for the top, the motor, the fluid, the wiring, and then the extra bracing in the trunk as well as the extra brace on the k-member.

the convertible is 120lbs more than the coupe, some of that is in bracing and the motor to run the top~

Can you give a brand name on that product? I'm a first time ragtop owner and this is all new to me. I'm concerned about that red interior being exposed to the hot summer sun as well. Any advice would be welcomed...
