I know this has been asked before (cause I searched) But it was never answered the way Id like to hear it so. Whats the best way to engine out a bay.
Some things to think about its an 89 its prolly never been cleaned before, I also had an oil leak spewing everywhere on my driverside of the bay. I wanna get all that cleaned up.
So If anyone can give me like a detailed way and things to use in the bay would be great

be careful what you get wet and make sure to rinse the simple green stuff off.. its really potent stuff.

just get a good degreaser, cover all the electrical connections, spray down the motor and let it sit for a few mins, use a low press stream of water(take the nozzle of the end of the hose) and wash it out, clean any hard to come clean areas with a rag and the degreaser wash it down again.

there a specific cleaners you can get for cleaning rims that work really well, check your local parts store or walmart. I just use soap and water and then never dull.

The best engine cleaner is Grease Lightning. In gallon container it is 1/8 the cost of simple green and it blows it away. Spray it on and let it work hose it off. Only the most caked on sludge needs scrubbing. If you dont believe me ask Kirk (slvr2000stang) He is a convert!!!!

on the 89... you are gonna have a major job... if you do it by hand it will take forever...you can degreese it, best way, but do that at your own risk...

Where more then likely Id be able to find that stuff at? Ill take your word for it that it works better then Simple Green (plus I hear SG is notrious for staining and thats the last thing Id want)
Also I do Plan on going to a car wash to degrease alot of the oil but im planning on taking off the battery and just try hitting that area since thats where most o fthe oil is.
If I had to cover anything Id presume itd be battery, alternator, distribter those are more prone to get damaged by water correct?

Here in the south you can buy it everywhere but Kmart, Walmart, Lowe's, Home depot, Autozone, Advanced, Pep Boys all carry it. Hell it would easier to tell you where they dont sell it HAHAHHAHA

Ok if you pick up a gallon jug it is concentrated. Dilute it if you are going to use it for general cleaning to about 25 product 75 water in a spray bottle. For grease or brake grime on rims 50/50. Really thick grunge 75/25. DO NOT SPRAY ON POLISHED ALUMINUM UNLESS IT IS CLEAR COATED. Dont let full strength stay on your hands it will emulsify skin.
