werd but you just cant plant a nuclear plant anywhere though. Lots of health issues to be taken into consideration. Also needs a huge body of water thats seculded for the whole cooling process.
Shit there used to be 3 in CT and now 2 have been forced two close. and another is almost on its way to shut down. I dunno what was done for them to stay open but there still around.

There is a damn complete nuclear power plant in N AL that was built and NEVER USED!!! Let's put it to use!
And bluem, the water source does need to be large, but it doesn't have to be secluded. You can argue this one with me if you want, but the water is returned to the source within a half a degree of what it was when removed, and my best friend's dad is manager for a nuclear power plant in TN.

I thought they use two out of the three reactors they have there? I thought it was just one of them that they were not using?

I think there is a whole plant that was never used. Not Browns Ferry. I'll check on it w/ my friend's dad, he'll know or be able to find out for me.

Health issues? From what? They don't release radiation, they don't pollute, they run for years between refuelings, and cost have operating costs comperable to a coal plant (which releases a suprising amount of radiation from isotopes of uranium found in coal). It's the ultimate power source.

It's probably Watt's Bar that you're thinking of. They finally activated one unit. There's a bunch through Tennessee and Alabama that construction was started and never finished, though.

That does sound familiar. I'll probably know for sure in a day or two. Friend's dad works 2 jobs in Chattanooga, incl head of security at the nuclear power plant there.

My dad worked at Oak Ridge, Watt's Bar, and now at Brown's Ferry...which is why I know anything about it.

Yeah, nuclear power really is so much cleaner. Now if we can just find a way to make the waste safe. I've heard of some research in this area where they can accelerate the process for the nuclear waste to deteriorate into something more benign
