work and back once = 84 miles..
to work, to north jersey to check out a car and back = 222 miles
306 miles..
filled up... he topped it off a good $ worth..
and it took 11.778 gallons
that = 25.98 MPG
its a shame it was a wasted trip though.. the car wasn't exactly what I was expecting
*edit - oh yeah, average highway MPH = 75
# of WOT runs.. almost every stop sign and every onramp..

haha.. the part i found the most comical about your post is the fact that my friends from NJ always make fun of us PA folk cuz we pump our own gas.

My neighbor has an 03 gt he bought just for road trips, averages 26-27 mpg every time. I'm trying to talk him into letting me drive the car on a daily basis to make sure it's running right....

Why is that a record?
That's pretty much normal for my 96. And yes I haul butt in it too.

Used to pump gas for a living here in PA. Made 5.75 + like 10 bucks in tips every night. So many old people and cars full of hot chicks who hate "yucky gas". That job sucked and kicked ass at the same time.

why is it a record? most of my trips don't include 200 miles worth of highway-exclusive travel.. I'm sure I coulda gotten another 1-3 MPG outta the thing if it had been all highway

speaking of NJ, when we were out there for a trip to NYC, one guy got out and tried to pump gas, and the gas guy yelled at us, we were like WTF people up here are LAZY

heh, my 96 got about 17 miles to the gallon, that thing was horrid.. there really is absolutely no good reason to own a 96GT
my modified 5.0 is getting 18.5 and its got ~80-90 more hp than the 96 did hehe

I'm getting about 30 miles a gallon interstate driving. Including playing around at rest stops and with d-bags along the way... 400 miles out of the tank before empty light comes on
