So I recently went with an ebay purchase of some completely dark smoked headlight housings. I have to admit they look sweet, however visibility sucks. I've adjusted the lights 3-4 times now and I'm still not getting the light I desire on the road. My question is should I go with a 8000K HID kit from american muscle and keep the housings, or buy a new set of stock smoked housings and have my visibility return? I have already treated my stock housings twice, however there is a terrible creature in Florida called love bugs that ate the crap out of my lenses FYI. I am using brand new silver star 9007 bulbs currently.

Yea I know stock looks good when clean, however these look really good on mine since I have the True Blue Metallic Paint. The lenses almost look like the color of the car (camouflage in a sense)...LOL I'll post a pic soon.

I used to run smoked headlights, but the look wasn't worth the trade off. I slap the smoked ones in at shows now, and keep the stockers for dd use.

I have smoked lenses and HID's. They work really well together. I ordered the lens after I got the HID's so I don't know how much light is let out by Halogens. I say upgrade to HID's and make your car stand out even more. 8000 K will go really well with the color of your car.

Good to hear. I hated the look of my old stock/oxidized lenses. I treated them once with the kit you can get from Autozone, and although it improved them a little, overall I was not happy and the lenses returned within moths to their ugly color. Then that is the route that I will go since I have had two positive feedbacks. I'll go with a 8000K HID kit. Appreciate the feedback.

Just ordered an 8000K kit from Stangmods.com. I would have gone with American Muscle, but I spoke with them today and the product was either discontinued or on backorder and I'm sure we've all had bad experiences with backordered products. I looked at the reviews from Stangmods.com and the seemed to be positive and I also had another member tell me about their kits. I'll post pics sometime next week when it arrives and I have the time to install it and let ya'll know how it goes.

So do to the fact that I've invested some money in restoring my old headlights and bought a new Set of Ultra Stars from Sylvania I'm going to sell the StangMods 8000K HID hit and my completely smoked out lenses. Just don't have the time to install them and need the money for school that starts in two weeks time. So I will be selling them both (NEW) HID kit and slightly used (1 month) lenses for $300. If anyone wants them on here just send me a message and we will talk about shipping. Let me know and thanks.
Justin.
