flowmasters sound good..
but you get a lot more drone in the car than you could..
I'm a fan of magnaflow personally..
a bit too quiet at idle but sounds awesome WOT..

Guys remember he has a GT. He does not need chambered mufflers to create a bad ass sound. Just get some Dynomax Ultraflows, Magnaflows or Borla Mufflers. They are flow thru design and will provide good sound and better flow which will free up a few pony's along the way

FYI you use chambers so you dont loose all your torque on the low end. It evens out the tourque curve nicely. Keeping a bit of back pressure is nessisary for that.

Dude that is all well and good on a V6 but it is totally unneccessary on a V8. I also dont believe there is much loss on a V6 especially on a car with Cats on it. In 23 years of building cars and going to dynos the loss of torque is minimal or non existant.

I have a buddy with a full headerback SLP exhaust setup.. on his 04 GT
its a bit too much IMO..
idle/low RPM/light accel it sounds like a damn tractor.. WOT is nice though.. you can hear it from at least 2 miles away.. (I know when he's coming)

I do belive I have a bit of experience myself and can show you on the dyno that you do loose enough torque to make a difference on launch with a 4.6. For normal driveability no it wont make that much difference but when racing every bit of torque counts at launch time. Maybe I should have prefaced my remark and stated for racing purposes but hell why build a performance setup if you aren't going to race?
With chambered mufflers and a spacer you can put the car back to the original torque or a little above it while boosting flow for higher HP numbers. Win / win situation.
On a side note Im in Darlington everyweekend. We seriously need to hook up and compare notes over some brews sometime.
