It's been far too long but within the next year or so I will be revisiting my Mustnag Project. I just got a truck for a daily driver so the Stang is finally on leisure driving statuts like I have wanted for a while plus I can have extended down time with it now while still having transportation.
The next phase is going to be Suspension. These are the parts I am looking at. What I need are tips on places to buy, brands, specs, and other needed info. I usually research a project before I get started on it so this is basically the first step, I dnot know much aout susp since I haven't to do much to mine yet. I know a little, but assume I know nothing.
The build I am looking for is going to be mostly for drag type racing. Once the project is totally finished I am planning on the neighborhood of 500rwhp so with that power in mind, I wont mind springing for better stuff or other parts I may not be aware of.
Here's my known list:
Subframes
Sway bars
Pan-hard bar
Caster/Camber plates
Shocks/Struts
Front/rear strut tower bars (I have heard that this makes nearly no difference since our strut towers are rather sturdy already, but what about in the mentioned HP range?)
Control Arms
Let the info rain begin.

do you want handling, drag strip, little of both, how far do you want to go etc?
Handling
Pick up an 03/04 cobra IRS. Upgrade all bushings with ( FTBROrder), lowering springs, coil overs, etc etc etc. But after that depends on how far you want to go of course.

for drag 8.8 rear with drag shocks front/rear, coil overs, MM drag lower control arms, panhard bar, tq arm (maybe not a tq arm... but it does eliminate the uppers), adjust the pinion angle to 3-4 degrees or so~, a nice set of slicks (but not to much so you just bog down), coil overs on the front to help weight transfer, LIGHT wheels/tires, all I can think of atm

You don't want the dead weight of a strut tower brace if you are going to drag the car.
Lighten up the front: Tubular K member and A arms, coil overs, ditch the front sway bar.
Rear made to hook as posted above.

The money isn't necessarily an issue, I will be making sizable tour checks with my only real substantial bills being the truck payment and insurance. Most everything else is covered under mil benefits.
Basically this car will be the project car that I will one day teach my kids how to work on cars with so I plan on keeping it around for a some time.
I have phases set up for each section of the car I want to COMPLETE, so I'd rather get everything I need for each phase all at once rather than have to come back later.
So I need to know everything I should be looking at doing.

Useful info here, with talking about dead weight, would you consider a battery relocation kit worth the money involved? I mean you'd have to get a fumeless battery which runs like 150 just by itself in addition to the relocation kit.

Oh, and what about spring rates? I hear this batted around but don't really know any numbers for what rates should be front and rear. I know stiffer rear, softer front but is there a number I need to be shooting for?
