im trying to save up the cash to buy a fox this summer. im considering everything, im looking at only manuals. but im looking in to convt. hatch( my fav) and notchs (my least fav.). what should i be looking for in these cars? are their typical problems that go with the brand? is there any option i should try and find for rarity, im looking in to keeping this car along time to make alittle money off her. thanks for any input.

try to avoid sunroofs..
make sure the engine doesn't knock make sure the car shifts into all gears smoothly, make sure it goes down the road as nice as a fox should..
aside from that check under the car, make sure the floor pans are solid, all the chassis parts are properly bolted to the car, etc.. make sure the tires seem to be wearing evenly.. and on the test drive tell the owner you have to make sure the limited slip works
BTW emerald green hatch > *

Also look for leaks outside and inside the car.
check for rust around the wheel wells inside door jams
check how the hatch closes.

just remember most charge WAY to much for foxes... its just the way it is, you REALLY need to go over the one you get to know EXACTLY what you are getting into you just never know what some dumb a55 has done to a car...
notches are the best looking... thats my opinion... they are the RAREST (most expensive) but you can resale in no time everyone wants a notch and they are faster
tell me this dont look good...

check to see if the rear main seal is leaking very badly. Also that seems to be common the 5.0's especially the fox's. Make sure there is not ant grinding in the T5 itll mostly be in 3rd if there is any maybe some in 2nd also. There are great cars no doubt but unfortunately there are alot of them that have been abused.

notches are rare compared to hatchbacks.. dont know why you think otherwise, there are alot around here but 10x more hunchbacks. Notches are MUCh more smooth in design.. I guess I just like things that are more pleasing to the eye... I helped my friend put shocks on the hatchback of his 90lx OMG that tard is SO DAMN HEAVY no wonder they wear out...

your hatch is supercharged and its still slower than my NA coupe
also im so glad that you guy have an opinion, im very happy, but keep it to your self, I don't go around talking about how lame I think GT fox's are but I seriouly think those are joe mullet style hardcore.. but I know that some people are really in love with those cars and they are nice cars, just not my thing.. so basically, thanks all for being so mature.
this thread needs a serious case of lockdown

alright, dont mean to start a massive argument, they both look good... I like both, some dont like certian things about the other one so lets just leave it at, both are good both offer different things and its a personal preference. Lets get back on topic else I will lock the thread

make sure the frame isn't bent, check for damage to the radiator support. an 89-93 would be better b/c of MAF unless an earlier one was converted. personally, i think the airbag steering wheels look MUCH better than the non-airbag wheels so 90-93 if you feel the same way. black interiors are pretty rare, so are non-power windows and locks (if you are into non-power stuff).
P.S. notches own j00

That doesn't look good
the rims are too big for the size of the car IMO

18s are to big for foxes no doubt, in person 17s fit just right, by the way those are my old cobra R rims I guess I like smaller looking sportier cars more fun anyway.
