i'm walking to class and as i'm walking through the lot i walk pass a guy with an 04 v6 pony package mustang. so i walk up to him and we start talking about cars and heres a piece of the conversation that i found interestingly funny:
me: nice ride man.
him: thanks. thats your mustang over there?
me: yeah.
him: what year?
me: 04.
him: if someone ask me why i didnt get an 05.......
me: yeah i know. what kinda exhaust you got?
him: dual flowmasters.
me: nice, i heard it through the lot and it sounds bad ass (it really did)
him: thanks, the guy said it adds like 40hp so i figure i'm at about 240 right now.
me: (suppressing laughter) i dont think it adds that much, maybe like 5 or so.
him: i dont know, thats just what the guy told me.
me: how much you paid for that setup?
him: like 250.
me: well thats not bad.
thats my funny part of the day that i thought i would share with you all

man, honestly, it sounded nice. very quiet on idle and when he revved it a little, it sounded damn good. thats what made me approach him b/c i wanted to know his setup.

Wow............ 40?
I thought a CAI would add like 15-25.. then I realized it was just like 5 if most..
40 for an exhaust? I WISH.

I actually saw someone who bought that 'small shot nitrous' system..
He was in the lane next to me at atco (a few cars ahead so we didn't run)
(you know those c02 cartridges being sold on ebay)
and swears it gained him 20 HP
(he has a grand am)
I just pointed and laughed at him
I watched him run a 16.7@78 mph

x2, i loveeeee the sound - when it runs. hooker longtubes, dumped old style flowmaster 40's (they have been on atleast 6 cars, lol). the blower and the cam help a little too.
back on topic: my dad has dual flowmaster 40's on his 01 v6, it sounds alright at idle but as soon as you hit the gas you know its a 6er

back back on topic..
While we were all eating work today we were talking about all the new cars out..
one of my coworkers has a 98 neon coupe 5 speed.. SOHC
He put a 'performance' mopar computer in it, but bone stock otherwise with 100k miles
he swears the thing will run 14s
Man I'd like to see him try just so I can point and laugh at him when he fails..
