the best place to start is checking the balance of the wheels. Sounds to me that you warped a rim or threw a weight off of the rim. Take the car to a shop where they balance tires and get them to check the wheel(s) If you know which one you hit with the hole its easy to know which one to check otherwise you got to check all of them. i bet the problem is in the rims/tires being out of balance/warped.

make sure to mention that the wheels may be warped so they can check for that as they check the balanceing of the wheels.

worse case scenario I would guess a bent axle. but Spector's diagnosis sounds about right

You can... they are known to charge to much though. Was it the front or rear? If its the rear you may have a warped axle as stated above. In any since the parts are not to expensive. I will sell you all 4 stock 15 inch rims for 150 with tires on em lol an axle for your car is 76 bucks... so its not a huge deal. Try not to drive much with it, if it ONLY does it at an XX mph range then its most definatly a wheel out of balance, if it gets worse as you drive faster and faster it could still be a wheel out of balance or something warped. Ford can fix it but may charge to much...
Get a diagnosis and let us know what they say.

I'd take it somewhere other than Ford, but I was thinking the same thing Spector was. It's probably a warped wheel.

I took a chunk out of one of my old wheels on my 97 v6 hit some oil spun around and went up on a median... cost me 160 for a new rim... what a rip off, I was a mustang NOOBIE back then (dont spread it around though)
