Well, I picked up some 3/4" subfloor plywood as there was no MDF available at Lowes. I have the floor cut out and the Jute Padding rough cut and stapled to the new floor. It's pretty dark out now so I'm going to wait for light and see if the jute needs any fine tuning. Then I'm going to work on cutting out the carpet. I managed to find exact matching carpet so I'm pretty stoked about that.
Anyhow, here's how the truck floor looks right now.

I had no trunk floor...it was just bare sheet metal as the stock floor is just cheap card bard that bends and gets all fubared with time. Replacing that with something that will support weight without the useless spare that ford provides you is step one in the sound deadening of the car. With a 22 hour drive to NY coming up in a couple weeks, I would like to be able to hear when I Get there. The drive home from wheeler made hearing difficult for almost an hour after I got home.
THe floor adds another layer of sound absorption on top of the sound deadener I will be ordering this friday...and it gives the trunk a finished look again and not the ill-painted trunk floor sheet metal.

Or, do it the proper way like I am and use that new fangled technology called sound deadeners so that you will also be able to carry on conversations with passengers as well as listen to the radio when on a long drive.

I can talk just fine to people in my car and it is fine with the top up or down on short trips. However, when driving for hours on end, it is not fine. I never have issues with it when driving around town, or to new orleans or anywhere else. And definitely have no issues with it with the top down no matter how long the drive. However, when driving for several hours with the top up, the ears start closing up.

around 80 mph....that 2k-ish rpm range anyhow. At least, that's what it was before the H-pipe and mid lengths. Haven't payed attention since the new setup to see if that range has changed at all. It was about a 300-400 rpm range that started around 2k before.

Does what vibrate? The drive train? No. The floor, console, any other interior panels, mirrors, etc? No.
