I guess they look cool as compared to rusty calipers, but seems like they'd be worthless for anything else, especially heat dissipation.

Meh, I'd rather get the ones that say 'Cobra' on them. Some pretty blue ones.

I plan on polishing mine soon, since you can't do the rears I will probably paint them right after too. Only problem I see is to as what color I should paint them.

When I bought my car I had rusty front calipers. I wire-brushed them with some anti-rust fluid, masked them off with aluminum foil and sprayed them with silver paint. $10 and a couple hours. Surprisingly, they are still silver after 6 years. A hint of rusty color now in the paint, but good enough to hide behind the rims I've got.
I've thought about finding a set of the Bullitt brakes if they ever need replaced...

yup just keep an eye out for a set of cobra brakes for cheap, generally you can get them for 100-150 bucks (calipers and pads) used. You can always have a set powdercoated.

I purchased a set. They did claim to dissapate heat. I thought at the very least-that they would improve the appearance of the butt ugly stock calipers. They said that the clearance would not be a problem with my original stock 17" 5 spoke Bullitt style wheels. I could not make them fit-they caught the back of the wheel-despite the claims from the manufacturer/ and the fact I did all that I could to try and make them fit...
I sent them back to American Muscle for a refund.

I could understand buying them if someone didn't want to mess around with paint and prep and stuff if they were cheap, but for 189.00...hell with that!

Holy moly. I just finally hit the link to see these things when I saw you post the price... Terrible to the point of being funny. Does MGP make Legos by any chance?

wow, everything that really needed to be said was said, except I don't feel that this point was accentuated enough...189 dollars? WHAT!! and i like the ad, "gives you a big brake race ready look that will turn heads" if I turned my head for those, it would be to say to who,m ever I am with the word RICE.

yea just because you have attention and people looking at your car does NOT mean they like what they see.
