What year is your car? You may already have the PI heads.
Yes, the stock internal will hold out up to a point...but that level is really dependent on the quality of your tune. Some have managed to get stock internals to hold 12-14 psi with a really good tune. Others have had them let go at the same levels.

You don't race your car, you can't be giving advice.

According to Kenne Bell the stock 4.6 is good for 450HP. Anything more will require forged internals. Taking into account KB's product a stock 4.6 with a KB brings you to about 350HP, I want to say. Given at 6-9psi, anything more you will need forged internals. Getting ported heads and extensive mods even at 6psi may require forged internals.
Don't take this too literally though but it may help get you started and a general idea as to what you can do.

wow 12- 14 psi! cool cool thanks for the input but i think i may go with a 5.4 swap... my goal for my car is to reach 400 hp give or take... and i think i may be better off to just buy a 5.4 and rebuild it how i want, get everything i need to do the swap with and dooet tooet ya know... from what i have read the 5.4 swap is relatively simple considering u can use your stock ecu and such... but my bank accout is a LOOONNNGGG way off from doin this but from now till i do it i can still day dream

i have a 95 mustang with a 98 gt motor and i have a procharger on mine running 12psi of boost but im changing the pulley to a 3.44(10lb) to lower the psi just to be safe but i have heard that a stock motor can handle 12psi up to 15psi but like i said im being safe about it cause i dont have the money to be spending to repair it if something was to happen.
