New Tires eating gas?

I just put on a new set of Kumho 245/50 R16 tires on my Mustang and it seems my gas is going down rather quickly now. I just had a set of Sumitomo tires on the mustang and they were the same size. They did not give me this problem. I had the Sumitomo's filled to 35 PSI and no problem. I went with 35 PSI on the Kumho's and gas is getting eaten like crazy. The max PSI on these Kumho tires is 51. Should I go up to 40 or could it be something else?

Tires should not make that much of a difference in gas mileage unless you're running one almost flat. I don't run any street tires over 35psi unless they're something huge like the 35's on the Bronco.

I would start looking elsewhere for a problem.

very unlikey to be your tires i have the 315 555r nittos and sometimes i run 18lbs and sometimes 25-30lbs and i cant tell a difference in mileage
